With over 30 years' experience in education and training, Elmwood has gained an excellent reputation for very high standards in teaching and learning. The college has gained a reputation for its warm and friendly atmosphere and this, combined with its impressive rural location in North East Fife near the historic golfing town of St. Andrews, makes it an ideal place in which to study. At Elmwood we try to make sure that our students learn in a realistic work environment and we are very proud of the excellent facilities we have for this purpose. Out of doors these include beautiful grounds together with our horticultural centre, a working farm and equine centre, and our own 18-hole golf course, complete with pro-shop, clubhouse, golf practice facilities and state-of-the-art greenkeeping equipment workshop. We also have enviable indoor facilities, including a large information technology centre, model office, hair and beauty salons, training restaurant, fitness suite, not forgetting the Student Union, in which you can socialise and meet new friends. We offer a wide variety of full-time courses, combining an extensive range of general subjects with our specialist areas of land-based study such as Agriculture, Horticulture, and Equine Studies, and also our internationally renowned Golf and Greenkeeping courses. Every year Elmwood recruits a number of students from overseas including China, Iceland, Czech Republic, Spain, Germany, France, Ireland and Nepal! Many events are organised by the college for these students to allow them to see a bit of the country during their stay and to introduce them to the local community and culture. Elmwood as an ideal stepping-stone to degree level courses and, with this in mind, many of our HNC and HND qualifications have well-established articulation routes to a variety of universities and Higher Education Institutions.
