London Hotel School teaches the UK Higher National Diploma (BTEC Edexcel) in International Hotel Management. This course is structured into twelve units in the first year (one per month) and students can start at the beginning of any unit. Each unit is assessed by coursework assignments and these assignments usually involve research into London hotels. The second year is a full time paid work placement in a hotel in London working in usually Front Office or Food & Beverage. During this year students have the opportunity to apply some of the theory they have learned and also to get valuable expereince of working in a famous hotel. London Hotel School has some of the best work experience placement oppostunities of any hotel school. We have students working in hotels such as the Ritz, Claridges, The Berkley and One Aldwych which are alll world famous hotels, as well as students working in hotel chains like Mandarin Oriental, Marriott, Hilton and Four Seasons. On completing the work placement the student has one final assignmant to finish before being awarded the Higher National Diploma and this takes one more month. Many of our students then will be asked by their hotel employer to stay and the hotel can apply for a UK work permit of up to five years for the student. Alternatively students can complete a one year Top Up course at London Hotel School to get a Bachelors Degree in Hospitality Management.
