St. Andrew's was founded in 1976 as Cambridge's first independent A-level college. It is located in the very centre of the ancient university city of Cambridge. It is a safe study environment which offers a wealth of cultural, social and academic facilities including good libraries, bookshops, art galleries, museums, theatres, cinemas, sports centre and restaurant and is only an hour by train from London.
Our aim is to create an academic environment where students could achieve the best possible examination results. From small beginnings when the college enrolled only 20 students in its first year, the College now enrols 150 boys and girls who are prepared for British and international university entrance. St. Andrew's emphasises the importance of individual attention to cater for each student's particular needs.
In addition to a large number of classrooms, the College also has a modern computer centre, an Art room a quiet study room and a reference library, as well as a students' common room. The College makes use of the many excellent facilities provided by the city of Cambridge including the Kelsey Kerridge Sports Complex.
The College offers a wide range of academic subjects to suit almost any taste. Students come to the College to study GCSE, A-level and University Foundation courses. The College depends on good examination results to allow its students to enter the top universities. Since its foundation over 2000 students have entered universities, including Oxford and Cambridge. The College continues to achieve a high level of success and aims to place all students in the most prestigious British and international universities.
The College is recognised as efficient by the British Accreditation Council for Independent Further and Higher Education and is registered fully with the British Government's Department for Education & Skills.
