Colchester Institute is the largest provider of further education and training in Essex and the adjoining areas as well as being a key provider of higher education.

Colchester is a cultural and popular town in which to study. It has a unique blend of ancient and modern influences which include a Norman castle, glorious parks, art galleries, museums and lively nightlife. The bustling town centre offers an array of shops, restaurants, pubs and clubs. Entertainment includes a leisure centre and multi-screen cinema. The Colchester campus is a ten minute walk from both the town centre and train station, with London under an hour away by train. Stansted Airport is nearby, as are the seaports of Felixstowe and Harwich.

Each year more than 10,000 students benefit from the extensive facilities, including a well-equipped gym, hair and beauty salons, refectories and restaurants, and an active students' union. We also offer well resourced libraries and resource centres, specialist workshops and teaching areas, plus small class sizes providing friendly and supportive learning.

The College has almost 800 computers for student use, with internet access and individual email addresses. On-line learning opportunities for all students are also available.

For many years, Colchester Institute has achieved outstanding results in teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL) to students from all over the world in a friendly and supportive atmosphere.
