South Leicestershire College has been successfully delivering courses and qualifications to students from around the world since 1971. We moved into our modern building in August 2019. We are a state sector College accredited by the British Council. The College is located in Central England with good road and rail access within easy reach of London, Oxford and Cambridge. The College works hard at integrating all students into the wider College community and we are proud of our caring and helpful atmosphere. The main College is situated about four miles from Leicester City Centre with easy access from buses, which stop almost at our front door. We are just far enough away from the city to have a semi rural aspect making for a peaceful welcoming campus.
The College is well equipped in terms of both computer equipment and other resources, ranging from a language laboratory to satellite TV. There is a well-equipped library with books, magazines, newspapers and a drop in facility. This can be used for work or leisure and all students are welcome to contact and get news from home.
Most students' work towards UCLES qualifications such as a First Certificate, it is also possible to combine English with many other subjects depending only on an individual's ability. Most European students combine English with Information Technology qualifications awarded by City & Guilds.
The college does not have Halls of Residence but a network of well-established home stay and private accommodation, within easy reach of the College.
As well as the main Wigston site courses are also offered in the town of Market Harborough, 15 miles south of Wigston, this is a traditional Market town with picturesque buildings and surrounding countryside, yet still a main access point to London by road or rail.
