Dudley College is an important UK further education college with courses that attract students not only from the local community but also many other parts of Britain and the rest of the world, in Europe, Asia and Africa and South America. The Lexis Centre is a specialist language unit within the college. It is conveniently based on the main campus in its own suite of rooms, where a lot of the teaching also takes place. Other college facilities are easily accessible.
Apart from full-time English language, the range of courses that the college offers to both home and international students is enormous (almost 1,400 in total) from G.C.S.E standard right up to degree level in some subject areas. Engineering, computing, business studies, media and tourism are just a few of the subjects it is possible to study at Dudley! However, despite its size, one of the college's main aims is to offer a flexible and personal service to students. This is achieved through a personal tutor system, the Student Services team, and an extensive Welfare and Accommodation Service.
The college has strong links with a number of British Universities which accept a Dudley College Access Certificate for entry onto their degree courses. The college's commitment to quality is shown through its ISO 9001 registration, and Investor in People award.
Dudley College has been established for over 130 years but our teaching environment and facilities are amongst the best and most up to date. Since 1992 £11 million has been spent on refurbishment and new buildings. Students enjoy a new library with over 34,000 books, a computer centre with over 100 computer terminals offering multi-media and Internet access, and recently upgraded cafeteria and refectory facilities.
